Where is the fuel pump located on a 1999 camry

When people replace the fuel pump they disconnect the battery. In doing that, it breaks the anti-theft immobilizer. You just have to reset it.

It's located inside the fuel tank. Fuel pump, fuel level sending unit, etc is all one unit. Just look on YouTube for replacement videos.

I called 3 toyota camry dealerships to buy a "2007 toyota camry fuel pump relay. None of them could find this part in their system. Nothing in the fuse/relay box in the engine compartment show anything to indicate a fuel pump relay. Many people give contradicting answers as to where the relay is located and even post diagram layouts, which don't even match what the actual engine fuse box looks like. So far it is a mystery as to where the relay is located.

Many things from bad fuel, bad plugs, bad plug wires, to plugged lines or fuel pump going bad.

Do you know for a fact the old fuel pump was faulty ?
Do you know if you are lacking fuel pressure or spark now ?

The pump gets power from the circuit opening relay and the EFI main relay, which are supplied through the EFI fuse. p219 here

The fuel pump is located in the fuel tank and it can be reached by removing the back seat of the car.

be sure to get a fuel pump of the same rating with the one you are replacing.

What it does have is a plastic checkball(almost like a ping pong ball ) in the tank which prevents back flow up the filler neck. If this hangs up,it will cause poor flow the right way fuel goes in the tank. I have poked around and got these to free up before. The last time I used a small peice of plastic tubing and successufully freed up the ball.Severe cases my require tank removal as there are some makes and models out there requiring a replacement fuel tank.
