98 Ford Explorer SOHC 4.0 V6 Water Leak

Replaced water pump. still leaking water. cant get a good look @ where its coming from. looks to be coming from just above the water pump on passenger side. I've heard that its the thermostat housing on back and the timing cover seal. also heard it could be the intake gasket. whats more likely? what the easiest way to find out?

I have a 1991 ford explorer 4.0 and I have a water leak but its not the pump where else can it be coming from please help.

Start with the simple stuff 1st. Look for hose connections or hose clamps. Also there is a weep hole on some water pumps. If it is a small leak this could cause visible water. Hope this helps.

I have water pouring out from the top of the engine block, but not from the water pump. Can't see exactly but looks like the leak is behind and above the water pump. Can you tell me the most l

If its not from the water pump or hose it is most likely from a rusted out welch plug , This happens if the coolant is not replaced when needed . To do a good repair replace them all . For a bit extra money find brass plugs, end of problem . replace with good coolant.

2000 ford explorer loosing coolant

Unfortunately this will be kind of hard but, it sounds like you may have a blown head gasket depending on where on the passenger car it's leaking? Drive the car get it hot. Leave it running get out and pop the hood. Start looking for leaks. Use a powerful flashlight to help look. If it doesn't leak while you're driving and only after the car is shut off then I'd say you're creating a vacuum in the coolant system, change your coolant cap at that point.

2003 Ford Explorer V6 engine over heating and leaking thought the leak was the water pump but its not

i had a 88 ford thunderbird with a v6 and it had coolant hoses runnig into the throttle body. tracing the hoses with your hands feel for cracks and hole with your fingers, but wait until the engine is cool first don't get burned.

Antifreeze leak from timing cover.4 litre engine not a SOHC

Your water pump has a 'weep' hole that is breached so you are going to have to replace the water pump. that engine is not overly difficult to work on as you have lots of room to work.

Antifrezz is leaking from the engine no hoses are broke whers is it coming from

If all your hose and hose clamps are good. There is a good chance that the water pump has to be replaced, once the water pump bearing is worn. The coolant will leak from the weep hole on the water pump when the engine is running and the only way to stop the leak is to replace the water pump.
Thank you for using fixya.
Depending on engine size a 3.1 liter v6 and a 2.2 **** 4cyl. are both located in the front of the engine.
Remove serpentine belt,remove 4 10mm from pulley (v6)(three 13mm for 4cyl.)remove pulley.v6 will have 6 8mm bolts,4cyl. will have 4 13mm bolts-remove clean surfaces install new pump.
About 40 mins.v6,60mins for 4cyl. Be sure to drain coolant before you start, refill whith proper coolant, some 95 up gm require dexcool anti freeze (orange in color).
