What is the brand of gasket set do you have, it should be printed on the contents what seal goes where. Or call the tech line for the mfg of the gasket set.

Blue smoke out of exhaust

#1 suspect is the oil seals in the turbo, especially if you use a gause/oil air filter instead of the factory one (known as a "dusted" turbo).

Wet Drivers carpet in Toyota Mr2 why?

If the roof is a T-top then it may be leaking from the old seals. Especially in areas with heavy rains. Just simply replace the seals along the T-top. They range around $130 per side to buy new. Some sites that can offer more specifics are mr2.com

I have a 1993 mr2 and need an engine loom diagram for when i fit the replacement engine

I can help! Are you doing a N/A to turbo swap? Or just engine for engine? Mostly year for year will be the same...JDM or USDM. Depending on year...My first suggestion would be to go to Toyota and buy the 2 Big Green Books for your year. They have FULL wire diagrams amongst COUNTLESS things you will need to know. 2nd...I would go to MR2 tech .com...They have most of the pages of the BGB there. Anything you need let me know! Ive done many swaps in the 2nd gen. Good luck!

Execessive smoke with startup visual inspection oil in exhaust

Blue smoke? how does the car run? blue smoke out of the exhaust would indicate a problem either with valve stem seals, worn piston rings...

toyotas are known for that, and if it has alot of miles then its normal

New turbo diesel L/cruiser engine blowin smoke

Its getting oil in the cylinders from somewhere. With it being more smokey in the morning leeds me to think its valve stem seals ( oil lying on top of the cylinder head around the valves) . Could the new engine have been old stock. If so then the stem seals probably hardened. They may soften with running a while. If it is under warranty take it back now.

Blue smoke out of exhaust, replaced turbo, still smokes a lot when engine revs

have you driven it at least 100 miles since repair?, the oil residue builds up inside the exhaust and burns off very slowly from the previous failed turbo seal.

Celica ST 1.8 Valve stem seals

When does it smoke? All of the time, or just when you start it? If it smokes all of the time, consider piston rings. If you have lots of smoke when first starting only, valve seals and possibly worn valve guides are the culprit.

Smoky mr2

I don't know if you are still monitoring this question, but Have you checked the EGR, PCV valves? If the PCV valve is stuck open, then your MR2 will be burning oil and smoking up a storm. You might want to check that out before buying a new motor...

Good Luck!
