The expansion valve is not working correctly on the a/c system. It is restricting the flow of freon from the a/c compressor to the condensor. So over a peroid of time driving the line will slowly freeze up and stop the flow of freon and the a/c will stop working completely. Will need to take it to a service center to have the freon gas removed and replace the valve. hope this will help you!!!

2003 mercury sable, AC will blow ice cold until I spend too long sitting in traffic then it starts to blow warm, if I shut AC off and start moving after about 5 minutes I can turn it back on and it gets...

It's gathering frost inside. When you turn it off & drive around for a short while, it defrosts & starts working again.

I'll bet when you park it, you find a pretty large pool of water under it half an hour later, don't you?

Sorry, that's the nature of the beast - it's worse in humid weather, not so bad in dry weather. Pretty nearly all cars (with AC) do that unless the AC is designed oversized.

My 05 equinox has an "after market" sunroof. The car dings as if the key is in the ignition when the driver door is open but the key is out of the ignition. My car also will shut off driving down the road...

ok don't know what this has to do with the "after market" sunroof.... but you need to take it to dealer to find out why it shuts off while driving.... a safety hazard.

2004 ford expolorer air conditioning will not stay on

I would suspect the AC compressor cycling switch (located in low pressure line from compressor) or a AC cutoff wide open throttle relay ( in under hood fuse and relay center) would be causing this problem.

Saw message that said battery not charging....about 2 days later while driving...the lights got dim and suddenly the truck shut off.......got a boost and truck cranked only to shut off a couple of yards...

i would have the battery checked out 1st, it could very possibly have a bad cell in it. if battery checks out ok, then have the alternator checked out.

Ac blows warm air after it cool the cabin

My Durango did the same and it was a high pressure switch bad. If you stand at the front of vehicle it is located on the left side next to the radiator support by the radiator. There is a rubber flap you may have to lift to see it. Switch was a dealer item $ 40.00 I have not had no more problem out of it.
Mine would cycle on and about the time it would get cold the compressor would shut down, it may start a little later or it may be the next day before it would get cold again and then would shut down.

When idling(ie at red light), the ac was on high

Sounds as if the A/C Compressor has issues with the clutch/shaft locking up.... the blow off you heard was probably the pressure relief valve allowing an over charge of freon escape the system....however if the A/C system has a compressor problem or a clog that condition will also happen....can you have someone put a set of high/low gauges on it just for safety sake to be sure it is not developing too high of a head pressure...that would be my recoomendation....if the compressor locks up the belt can be thrown off causing your vehicle to require a tow/repair on the spot.

Car dies while driving

It could be something as simple as a bad or loose ground wire but the hard part is finding it.
Good luck
