Very common issue in the C5. You can go to Home Depot and buy a roll of reflective insulation and cut it to size and put it between the console and the tunnel. It makes a small difference, but it still gets pretty warm in there. Put your chapstick in the cupholder.

I had a 1965 Stingray ,that would melt the bottom of your gummy soled desert boots, back in the sixties
So I will go with poor air flow under the car, which is what you want. You don't want lift. That allows all the engine and drive line heat to transfer into the body. I believe you have that long aluminum drive shaft tube, right under the console, that ties the bellhousing to the rear transaxle. Check to see if some insultion is missing under the body

My 2000 VW golf looses power while driving exhaust over heated white smoke came from center console melted the passenger side of the console.

In my experience you have major engine damage do to exhaust system blockage. One of a couple things happen the engine is blown, the exhaust system got so hot that is what melted the center console and the white smoke was plastic melting. But either way not good

When useing the ac in my 1997 c5 , the center and drivers side blows cold , but the 2 passenger vents are blow hot . do you have a solution?

disconnect the battery for 4 hours and this will reset the controls for the a/c. Found this out by accident. Worked great on my 97 C5.

I have a 1998 Corvette and cannot get the fuel door to open

A very small J hook can open it although it may be tricky to do for some

1998 corvette, center console power outlet has come apart, how do you get to the underside of the console?

Open the hatch/door on the center console, pry up that plastic piece just forward of the door with a small screwdriver working from the rear, remove those 2 nuts in the recess, unscrew the door if you wish for easier handling, at the rear of the console opening there are 2 small plastic covers, pop those out and remove the 2 nuts under them, lift the rear of the console and slide it back just enough to unplug the fuel door opening button( there isn't much slack in the wiring for this button so don't pull the console back too far ). I suspect you only needed step one, but this will get the console out for easier access to the power outlet.

Corvette Headlight Motor Problem

Corvettes have a gear box on that motor. It has plastic gears in it. You probably have a gear stripped in that gear box, that lets the motor spin free. You can get repair parts to repair it, or replace the whole motor and gear box. Its an easy fix if your handy. Read all the instructions before you start.

My car shuts off when hot but restarts after an hour or so.Its a 2000 accent. I replaced thermostat, rad fluid and still having the same prob.

make sure the fams are coming on at the right temperature. if they do not come on at all, check the fuse, if they come on but no at the right temperature, check the temp sending unit/switch that controls the fans.

Battery light stays on

Many possibilities but the alternator is a good place to start, if its plug is loose, then the green relay inside the center console just to the left and slightly in front of the emergency brake will be clicking in connecting and disconnecting the battery( one loud click per time). It will need replacing or simply disconnecting works for the short budget.
