AFTER DRIVING FOR AT LEAST AN HOUR THE CENTER CONSOLE
ON MY 2000 CORVETTE GETS HOT-WHATS THE CAUSE
Very common issue in the C5. You can go to Home Depot and buy a roll of reflective insulation and cut it to size and put it between the console and the tunnel. It makes a small difference, but it still gets pretty warm in there. Put your chapstick in the cupholder.

So I will go with poor air flow under the car,which is what you want. You don't want lift. That allows all the engine and drive line heat to transfer into the body. I believe you have that long aluminum drive shaft tube, right under the console, that ties the bellhousing to the rear transaxle. Check to see if some insultion is missing under the body
