Driver side door won't lock or unlock with key

My driver side door won't lock or unlock with the key anymore. The key will go in and turn, but it doesn't do anything. The passenger side works fine.

Ok!for your problem it's probobly a rod who unclip by itself or a broken lock.Volkswagen had some problem with the door handle and the mecanism inside the door.But anyway to know the problem for sure you gona have to remove the door panel interior ,take off the plastic protector ,check inside where's the lock mecanism with a light and your gona be able to figure it out by your self this is not that hard you'l se good lock!...please reply.... lipak!!...

Youll have to take the door panel off and look for a rod or a clip that came undone its an easy fix

Alarm won't turn off
the valet key doesnt have a transponder chip in it, so it will allow physical turning of keyways and operations, but will not disable the alarm and often wont disable the immobilizer.

sorry to say i think you will need to get an autolocksmith , or main dealer to get you a functioning key with transponder chip mapped to your cars rfid system that will allow alarm to be enabled /disabled

2000 cadillac deville driver side won't open with the key
1) Key turns but dose not unlock door. This means that the rod that goes to the back of the lock has came off. This also means that is the reason door is not unlocking with the remote as it pops the lock rod inside the door which pushes the lock open.
2) Key does not turn lock at all but works passengers side door. This means that the locks has been changed in the door, but that doesn't sound like the problem as you say the remote doesn't open the drivers side door so more than likely the rod has came off the back of the lock

Driver side door locking with remote but will not unlock, if i unlock it with key then remote will unlock all other door, if all doors are locked remote will not unlock the car. Once i manually unlock...
it is not the actuators, try a different remote, you may have an issue with the car security system/body computer not functioning on the unlock driver door command, one press of remote is unlock driver door and 2 presses is unlock the other doors.

Drivers door can not be unlocked from outside the car
Take the driver door panel off and look at the back side of the lock and see if the arm is attached sounds like it might have come off and is not locking the lock device anymore. thanks Jerry holler if you have more.
