I was told the air mass meter on my volvo v70 needed replacing as the engine management light came on. I have done this but the light stays on. the car was running ok before the change and is indeed still running well on the new meter. any ideas ??

Tom
The fault needs to be cleared and a short drive to adapt the throttle but if your engine management light was on i used to work for volvo as a technician(master) this is usually caused by the throttle which would honestly need to be done by someone at a dealer or with the equipment to download software to the throttle the throttle needs cleaned and there is a software update from volvo the crankcase vent willneed cleaned allthe way fron the vent box to the intake then you should have an engine flush and use syntheti oil this prevents the same issue with the throttle returning

Assuming that the part (and not the wiring ) was actually faulty, sometimes you need to clear the code from the computer using a scan tool. The light may go out by itself though after several duty cycles.
