I have a vw jetta gli 2003 and the steering stopped working a few days ago. i found out from my mechanic that he will need to replace the racket pinon steering unit. he said it's going to cost around 2,000 and will take a few days to fix. has anyone else had this problem on their jetta?

How can I diagnose a fuel delivery problem on a 2003 VW Jetta GLI 2.8L

you can unhook the fuel line where it connects to the fuel rail and turn the key on and see if you get fuel but it's risky you don't want it to spill over the engine. you may just need a new filter or maybe an intermittent short at the fuel pump. could even just be the power supply plug for the fuel pump

Im replacing water pump on a 2003 vw jetta gli vr6. I need a polygon socket to remove the water. I looked few places no one had it including the dealership. where can i find it??

The dealer has one (owned by the techs) but they are not going to let you use it. They are not in the tool rent business. Any repair shop that works on VW will have one. If you want one you will have to buy it from a tool dealer, find a Snap-on or MATCO dealer in your area.

Possibly AMAZON... (use your own module number)

Hello - I just bought a 2004 Jetta - day one - mil light came on. Car runs fine. What could it be? 2 mechanics checked the car over before I bought it and carfax said it was one owner no problems.

Have VW check it out. I had just got my 04 GLI with 70,000 miles when the light came on. The thermostat triggered the light and so I had the whole timing belt, thermostat, and water pump service. Worth the money.
