most vehicles can be set to 12th inlet and 14 exhaust ,except some 70s engines of the high lift cam type GT engines ,i thought this engine was hydraulic tappets but i cannot say as i havent worked on every engine or made over the last 40 yrs but if they are adjustable then these are the settings i would set it up too
Noise out of the engine. Noisy valves? Low oil level? Is the sound like tick, tick, tick, tick......that's how bad valves sound. I don't know if you have solid lifters those have to be adjusted after some mileage. Hydraulic ones are self adjusting. Only a good mechanic can tell for sure.
Your relays are or should be in the engine compartment under a plastic box or under the dash board on the driver's side or on the side of the dash board on drivers side. I use to own a 2003 BMW 325i sweet cars
