2004 ford freestar 4.2L engine...
High pitched whistle from front of van when going speeds higher than 40km. The noise stops when I press the brakes fully or when I move the steering wheel back and forth.
I changed the brakes and rotors and the noise is still there! HELP
ps..no leaks, smells, thumping, thuds, low hums, vibrations or...if not for that noise I wouldn't know anythng was wrong..

Usually answered in minutes!
would that cause that high pitched whistle???
I thought it was the bearings but it doesn't hum, it whistles like a tea kettle.
Thought about the calipers????
If it was the wipers, would that stop when I moved the steering wheel side to side (or press the brakes)?
I will take a look at the wipers though...anything to rid myself of that noise!!!!!!!
I have the same problem or maybe similar at 40 and up as you noted. Im suspected it was the transmission oil level not enough, so rechecked and added to ensure its on proper level when engine is warmed up or maybe CV joints? Im still figuring this out.
