Daewoo engine oil pumps

Now the daewoo engine is a re engineered copy of the opel europe engine as used in the corsa and astra .Now in the original opel engine the oil pump drive is six sided and 1cm wide and will last the life of the engine ,but in the daewoo the drive is about 2mm wide and is just a circle with one flat ,now if the oil isnt changed on a regular the oil get full of the effects of combustion and goes thick and horrible when cold ,this puts a strain on the pumps drive but as oil warms up it becomes very thin .Now what happens if vehicle hasnt had an oil change for a few years ?' and the fresh oil hold its viscosity then 20 miles down the road the customer rings up complaining, well the pump drive rounds off resulting in no oil pressure and then the oil light comes on ,10 seconds and the big ends are shot ,Recomendation is to change the oil every 6000miles and oil filter every thrid oil change ,use the cheapest oil available i prefer a diesel detergent type oil but anything is better than no oil change, forget these so called long life oils and just change it on a regular basis.

Oil pump replacement

Depends on what vehicle you have. Most pumps can be changed by dropping the oil pan. It may require raising the engine somewhat for the pan to clear the sump. Some vehicles have the oil pump run off the crankshaft on the side of the engine as well and are easier to access and change

It is not pumping engine oil

You need a working oil pump to pump the oil around the engine. If the oil is not being pumped through, the oil pump has failed or there is a blockage in the lubrication system.

Most likely the oil pump has failed and needs to be replaced.

How do you change the oil pump on a 1996 jeep grand cherokee limited 5.2 liter. The oil pressure drops almost down to zero when in idle normal operating temp range range. Need steps.

I'd be checking to make sure that the oil pump was not the problem before I tried to replace it.
How many KM/miles on the engine?
Regular maintenance?
Burning oil?

Oil light comes erratically on 92 accord

my guess is one of three things:

1. clogged inlet or worn out oil pump gears: change oil pump
2. Engine is tired and has leaky loose bearings and journals, hemorrhaging oil out all internally bleeding places. Engine flush unclogged the varnish that was holding oil pressure up. Rebuild engine or change when current engine blows.
3. Bad oil pressure sensor causing strange readings. Diagnose actual oil pressure and change sensor if needed.

These vintage honda engines are everywhere for cheap at junkyards. i wouldnt pay more than 350 for one.

Where is the oil pump located on a 88 nissan 300 zx

002df978-fffa-4fd8-838f-5f003e9d974a.jpg pump isb behind the timing belt cover and is on the timing mechanism. all this has to be removed to change the pump.361d5db2-f1b7-435f-a5ab-05c1f239349a.jpghere is the engine diagram, that could be your problem. oil flush can sometimes fix this. and do a few oil changes with cheap oil and filters until it is clear.
