I bought a 2004 Crysley Pacifica for my Daughter. It is average mileage but it is getting a code po456. My son in law has changed some small hoses what else could it be. When reset it takes about 4 days before it comes back on.

Usually this P0456 code is caused by an incorrect or faulty gas cap. Filling the fuel tank with the engine running could conceivable cause this code as well or if the cap wasn't properly tightened. Any of the following could also be the cause:
code p0440 refers to evaporative emission (EVAP) system--malfunction===causes -hose connections--intake leak--EVAP canister code po456 refers to the evaporative emission system--very small leak detected===causes --mechanical fault--hose---EVAP pressure sensor. The cracked hos may be the fault but I would be looking at the canister for the fault.
codse p0456 refers to evaporative emission system-- very small leak detected.. probable causes -----mechanical fault---hose connections loose---EVAP pressure sensor.. I would look at the EVAP sensor as being faulty
You do not have to drive any miles at all
if you repair OBD2 issues ,they either clear
themselves or you clear them with a scanner
or code reader, disconnect the battery on some veh
The PO456 -- is a Small Evap Leak - you have to find & repair
The PO422- May be a bad exhaust converter on Bank 1
That code usually means your gas cap is not tight enough or if it is the seal on the cap is bad and not sealing tight enough. You can fix the problem by replacing the cap with a new OEM one from the Dealer. Aftermarket caps are not recommended. Sometimes once you have a new cap installed the code will go away by itself. You will need a OBD II scanner to erase the code, you can go to AutoZone and they can read and erase the code for you.
Evap canister broke, hose cracked or not connected.
Purge or vent solenoid defective
Vacuum leak at engine
A code P0440 could mean one or more of the following has happened:
The gas cap is not installed or working properly
The purge solenoid has failed
The canister is plugged and not working properly
Start with replacing the gas cap with a OEM from the dealer, the after markets are made for a large variety of cars and may not work on your Pacifica or if it does. Your going to replace it with in a year. Good luck and hope this helps and the check engine light should go off after the third start up with out any issues found of you can disconnect the battery, but make sure you turn your radio off first or your going to be prompt to enter a radio code.
It is for an oil change mainly and any other service your maintenance manual suggests at the mileage interval. It needs to be reset after each oil change to be accurate.
