2002 sentra engine temp raising after a few miles. Radiator fan tuns on high. I need to turn the heat up high to reduce the engine temp. Water level is fine and heat works.

Sounds like you have a stuck thermostat. Trace the upper radiator hose back to the engine. It should go to a housing that usually has two bolts. While the engine is cool, remove those bolts and take off the housing. That will expose the thermostat. Replace it with a new one, recommend the lifetime replacement, and a new gasket. Leave the radiator cap off, top off the radiator with antifreeze and crank engine. Let it warm up and cycle through to top off the radiator and get the air out of the system.

1996 nissan sentra automatic...... engine makes a winding sound wile running ..? someone told me it mite be the power steering pump???? is that true ??? it happend after driveing throw high water...

If u drove in some water, all ur electrical components are wet and all the moving parts have lost the LUBRiCATiON! Check the ALTERNATOR if the sounds coming from that area u could just hear it while ur engine is running, check also the radiator fan turn on the engine and let it run till the radiator FAN starts up! The possible one is the FAN MOTOR, i have repaired such incident to wut happened to ur car! Hope that helps u! Taah!

No heat installed new heater switch, replaced water pump..replaced coolants, and thermostat......................what else could it be? Nissan 2003 GXE Sentra 1.8 L Engine/...

you could have an air pocket in the cooling system that has to be burped. With a cold engine, park uphill and leave the radiator cap loose. Fill radiator and coolant reservoir. Start engine with cap loose and run at 1500 rpm until temp gauge reads normal. Feel if top radiator return hose from engine to radiator is hot. If yes, coolant is flowing and thermostat is open. If cold, thermostat is not staying closed until engine is hot.

report results.

My 2002 Nissan Sentra overheats.

Do you mix your radiator fluid and have it tested to see what it is rated for, may be too warm and need more water if you mix it yourself. I would also check the fans on the radiator, they should be turning on at about half temperature on the temperature gauge. If not, then track down why they aren't.

Were are the sensors for the engine fans in a nissaan sentra gxe

One of the common things that gets missed at times is the radiator is down in cooling antifreeze. The car will act as normal during the warm up cycle and then the temperature guage will rise and then it will slowly come back down as the thermostat opens and/or the electric cooling fans come on. In actuality the engine is overheating, but it is not boiling over. The level of abtifreeze is at just the right level of lowness that you experience this phenomenon. After the engine cools off , (DO NOT REMOVE WHEN HOT - YOU CAN GET SCALDED WITH BOILING WATER/ANTIFREEZE)), remove the radiator cap and check the level within the radiator and also the antifreeze reservoir level. You can buy a 50-50 mix of antifreeze and water that is ready to put into the radiator. If the level in both the radiator and reservoir are correct, you may have a bad thermostat or some other problem.
