The '65/'66 C4, was known as the "Green Dot" C4 & has a different shift pattern to the '67/later C4's.

So your C4 tranny is the green dot which is an UPGRADED option. A better tranny better gears and stronger parts and what not, there was also the white dot tranny that was the cheaper or less performance transmission. As far as i understand the white dot was available for better fuel consumption HAHAHA which no one really cared about in 66 anyways.

In '65/'66 it was something like this:
P - Park
R - Reverse
N - Nuetral
White Dot - Starts in 2nd, automatically shifts to 3rd
Green Dot - Starts in 1st, automatically shifts to 2nd and 3rd

Testimonial: "Thank you. I had taken the mustang in for a tranny rebuild, an they told me it was a green dot. I never knew what that was for years. thanx again."

My 97 Buick Park Avenue says it takes Dexcool but I was wondering if I can mix with the universal green antifreeze

No. The reason for dex-cool is all the aluminum in these engines means you don't want to degrade the metal with corrosion. Pony up and buy the good stuff. I think these engines have a timing cover that can rot through and allow coolant to get into the oil--a very bad thing.

I was asked by my boss, if i knew how to add transmission oil to his 01 ls lincon

For a 2002 Ls, checking the trany fluid must be done on a lift, theres a level checking and also adding plug on the bottom of the trany, even to add fluid you will need a pump to pump fluid into bottom of the trany pan, theres no dip stick on these cars, and car must be level. you can try doing this on the ground , you will see the plug on the trany pan, you remove the allen screw, size 3/16 allen key, and fluid should drain out, you should see a stream and that means its full, heres a few diagrams of the trany check plug, good day,johnjohn2_121.gifjohnjohn2_122.gifjohnjohn2_123.gif

My 66 mustang pops when I turn it right. I think

ball joints are your problem, but also have your tie rods checked. if you can move your tie rods with your hand they need to be replaced. check your balljoints by lifting your car and grabbing a front wheel and moving it up and down if you feel slack, replace balljoints as soon as possible, as it is dangerous to drive in that condition.

Transmission shifts in and out and speedometer goes up and down in a 1998 Chevrolet pickup with an 4L60E transmission.

Do you mean that the trani is slipping? If so you may be low on trani fluid, may have a clogged trani filter or need a rebuild or new one.
If you mean something else then let me know.

My 66 mustang pops when I turn it right. I think

The first suggestion is to replace the tie rods. In most cases where there is alot of play and a popping sound when the wheel is turned is because the inner parts of the tie rods are worn through and should be replaced as soon as possible. You could lose control easily if the tie rod pops out completely.
There are inner and outer tie rod ends which keep the wheel in a straight line while attached to the axle. Tie rod ends can be found on the inside of the wheel and are attatched to a longer metal bar which allows tight steering by controling the path of the wheels. The tie rod ends themselves look of a ratchet, with the handle end being threaded.

Headliner install in 66 mustang coupe

Remove windshield and rear window to do it properly. Headliner is actually crimped in between window gaskets and roof edge. Not a job for the faint at heart. If you don't know the string trick to get your gaskets in place you'll be working on it this time next year. Look on CJ Pony parts web site. They used to have a good tech article on headliner replacement. Hope this helps...

2000 ford ranger pulls in reverse but not in drive, whats the problem?

When you say "pull" I assume you mean it wont go foward..
1st thing -check the trani fluid while the engine is running in park..
The tranies in these trucks are known to give out.. Reverse is usually run on the 3rd gear band.. It could mean that the band for 1st gear is damaged.. Could also be a vacume & or modulator issue.. Some trani shops give free estimates..
