2004 Pontiac Grand Prix won't accept CDs...

I accidentally got a CD stuck in my stereo's CD tray. Eventually I was able to fish it out, but now my CD player is no longer accepting CDs. Whenever I try to put a CD in the tray it immediately starts to push it out. I've tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, but that doesn't seem to do anything. Any help please?

You need a new starter solenoid. It is essentially a heavy duty remote switch that is activated by your ignition key switch. The solenoids get stuck or don't conduct well after 6 to10 years.
