At the very bottom of the engine there is a thing called the sump, this holds the oil, around there is the sump plug, i would have thought it to be around the back of it

My info says you have to remove front cover. The front cover is on the same end as accessory belt. Rockauto showed an oil pump repair kit for your vehicle. I can only tell you what my database shows.

You can buy a florescent dye to add to the oil and a light to make the dye really shine. Clean the engine with "brake clean" from a spray can at the oil leak areas ....then run the engine. Check for the start location of the leak. Start with a short run time ....... then longer run time if necessary until the leak(s) show. With or with out the dye ......this brake cleaning method should help locate the leak(s).
