GM Lumina/Grand Prix/Cutlass Supreme/Regal 1988-1996 Headlight Switch - REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

Except With Head Up Display (HUD)
(see Figures 1, 2, 3 and 4)

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the instrument cluster trim plate by unfastening the retaining screws or simply unsnapping it.
  3. If necessary, remove the air outlet trim plate. If may be secured with screws/bolts or clips.
  4. If accessible at this time, detach the switch electrical connector.
  5. Remove the switch, using one of the following procedures:
    1. Unfasten the retaining bolts/screws from the switch, then remove the switch from the instrument panel.
    2. Unsnap the headlight switch from the instrument panel.

  6. If not already done, detach the electrical connector from the switch at this time.

To install:
  1. Attach the switch electrical connector and fasten the switch to the instrument panel. If the switch is secured with screws, tighten to 18 inch lbs. (2 Nm).
  2. Install the air outlet and cluster trim plates.
  3. Connect the negative battery cable.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the steering column opening filler panel.
  3. Remove the instrument cluster, as outlined earlier in this section.
  4. Depress the locking tabs, then pull the switch out.
  5. Detach the HUD electrical connectors.

To install:
  1. Attach the switch electrical connectors.
  2. Snap the switch securely into the instrument panel.
  3. Install the instrument cluster.
  4. Install the steering column opening filler panel.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.

Car shutting down when i use the turn signal
I had the same problem with my 2003 Buick Regal ls, the ignition switch needs to be changed. Once replaced the trans will shift better and the electrical systems will appear brighter. It requires special screwdriver bits to remove the plastic around the steering wheel and the switch itself besides that it takes about an hour to replace since everything else is as simple as following wires to two different plugs, one at the ignition and another under the dash to replace it. Make sure the two screws that holds the ignition switch in place are tight or it will be hard to turn the key afterwards.

Did you check the TAIL LAMP LIC LAMP fuse 15 amp . ?
Located in the right I/P fuse panel open passenger door plastic panel end of the I/P pull ,fuse box behind . This fuse takes care of the thing's your having problems with

I have a 99 buick regal LS and my fog light has water in it from the rain and i want to know if u could show me a diagram on how to remove the old fog lamp and put in a new one?
u need to get under the car, and undo the 2 bolts that hold the bracket in place..
i replaced both of mine, and the new ones came with a new bracklet as well as new bulbs..very easy to replace

My 2003 buick regal will not start,turn over or shift out of park into nuetral. No dash lights will come on. The battery is good and the head lights work. I'm dead on the side of the road. I've had trouble...
i would try unhooking the battery and reseting the anti theft also check hot wire into the fues box under the hood...trying to help before i go to work...so hope it helps

When you turn the key on , not to start the car just turning the key foward all the lights flash repeatedly, on the dash of my 2003 Buick Regal. What could cause that? It might take 5 minutes or 10 minutes...
Ignition switch is bad and needs to be replaced. My 03 Regal did the same thing and playing with the hazzard swith would make it stop. New ignition switch fixed it.

Per your description, it sounds as though you have a stuck injector. I assume you have a service engine light on. Take the vehicle to your local Auto Zone or Advance Auto Parts and ask them to scan the car for trouble codes, they will scan the vehicle at no charge to you.
Write the codes down and respond back to this post and we can get started.

What is General Motors doing for customers with car problems 65525 miles, am getting my 6th battery,first one 5400miles,two around 15000-20000miles ,one 8000' one 600 miles on them. I am told this is az. My car has been garage and under awning always,left electric window up and down switch replaced on star did not work when car stalled,drivers power seat doesn't work,radiated replaced slightly over 50000 miles,car stalled when I turn left signal on, replaced crank sensor, still stalls replaced electric part of switch'. I weighed my keys and opener and house key, it weighs 2.03 ounces. I am now talking with a rep of gm, as to what to do. I do believe they are trying to fix a huge problem. I think all electrical problems are related .2009 recal for retainer order spark plug wire was done but nothing for the leak that had already soaked the gasket.when car was checked comments is opcode060018 which means nothing to me . Another comment is needs attention manifold hose and ac compressor 3'. Replace battery,replace hoses, power steering,heating and cooling it says on my slip. Please advise.
