Rear wheel freezes up (so far driver side only)

Our 1996 85 wagon with > 130,000 miles has been running fine. This morning as our son stopped at the end of our driveway there was a loud clunk. The driver's side rear wheel locked up and started making skid marks on the road.

I had him back the car into the driveway. The stuck wheel freed up long enough to do this. So far the passenger side rear wheel is working.

perhaps you need a new cap and roter a new spark plug wire set. they don;t like moisture. also check to see if you have any broken or leaking vacuum hoses. the worse case senerio would be that your head gasket is leaking--at cold temps a little antifreeze will enter until everything warms up and it seals shut due to metal expanding. but since you say it's cold weather only--this probably wou;dn't be the case. good luck.

It's probably not that the wheels are moving at a different speed. It sounds like a simple alignment issue to me. Installing a bearing could have thrown it off. You should just have a simple alignment job done.

SOURCE: The rear rotors on my Volvo v70 wagon are rusty!

your rear caliper adjustment is made by using the parking brake,if you don't use it on a regular basis it can cause the rear brakes to not work properly or at all.you need to use the parking brake regularly to avoid this.you may try working the parking brake repeatedly to try and adjust the rear brakes,if that works you may notice your brake pedal is higher or firmer.

My sons 93 century wagon has a leaking brake line that goes to drivers side rear wheel. We need to know which line outlet on the master cylinder controls that break so he cans plug it. He is 400 miles from...

Trace the line from the rear wheel back to master cylinder. (they are not all the same). When he do'es this he will lose both back brakes and emergency brake.

He must plug the master cyl. quickly with a plug threaded the same as the line It will be under pressure and then plug the line with a golf tee type thing and tape.
I recommend the just repair it properly with new line but If it is a hole in the line use a piece of rubber fuel vac any rubber hose slit wrap around leak and use hose clamps to seal leak and check fluid often. this is better than D/C line.

Buick Rendezvous Heating have Problem

Not a problem. I'm glad to help. As far as the vents, yes they run by vacuum. If the blend door or other door isn't opening or closing, you could draw cold air from one vent and warm in another.

Give it a try and let me know if you find anything. If you can't, I'll see if I can dig a vacuum diagram for the system ,may be you can find your problem

Sounds like a combo condition concerning your rear brakes and wheel bearings, if the noise was or is louder on right turns then left replace the right side wheel bearing and vice versa.Get this car to a shop however immediately as the ABS brake system may be trying to lock up the wheel that may be wobbling causing all sorts of havoc.

1995 Ford Escort LX Wagon 1.9 Liter. 173K Loud Vibration

Is the engine running on all four cylinders, no missfire? If so, check the engine and transmission mounts, there are four, one at the top right hand side, one at the top of transmission on the left hand side, and one on front of transmission bell housing, and one in the rear transmission bell housing, any of them that are bad can cause this vibration. Hope this helps, let me know.
