When changing the pigtail the part u connect the pigtail to on the ac compressor melted and broke off the a/c compressor is that replace able or do we need to get a new a/c compressor
The clutch is replaceable along with the pigtail. Check with your dealer to be sure you can get the pigtail. The clutch should be available at any parts store.
Try to turn the compressor, if it don't move it could be the cause of the failure.

Make sure the pigtail isn't melted also, very common for the pigtail plastic to melt on the inside and short out. When replacing the module or resistor, always replace the pigtail that goes into it. Common for it to melt.
The first thing i would check is the heater blower motor for power. If the blower motor has power then pull and wiggle on the blower motor resistors pigtail or connector but make sure the heater and fan motor and the ignition switch are turn on so you can here if the motor comes on. A lot of times these blower motor resistors get hot enough to melt the connector causing it to loose its connection.
no it requires full 12 volts to work the clutch the coolant fans have no connection to the ac system so they will not run until the engine temp requires them to
there is a fan normally in front of the condenser coil that will start as soon as the ac compressor gets power
the ac will not work until there is sufficient charge in the system to activate the low pressure switch
have to ask are you using the right gas as 134A requires all new system( evaporator , condenser , compressor , hoses) as the pressures are very much higher than r12 gas
Check the power going to the blower motor resistor located on passenger side of cab mounted on the heat duct with 2 screws. Also look for melted pigtail on the resistor they get hot and loose there connection.
Check your blower motor resistor for a bad connection or melted pigtail. It is located on the passenger side motor in the heat duct there is usally 2 screws that hold it against the heat duct. These resistors get pretty hot and melt the pigtail causing it to lose its connection.Perform the wiggle test on it with the ignition and fan switches on.You may need to replace the pigtail or the resistor or both.
The blower motor resistor needs replaced.Would also check the harnesses going to the resistor and blower motor for signs on melted wiring or poor connection. You may also need new pigtails if there is evidence of of wiring damage.
