Go to a car service center isnt so expensive.if something goes wrong even damages to altenator or water pump or worst to the ac compressor or power steering pump can happen!

the thermostat is situated below and to the right of the alternator in the thermostat housing. if you romove the alternator you can then see the thermostat housing..hope this helps.
havnt got a picture but just loosen the three bolts on the alternator,swing it inwards towards the engine block and remove/fit new belt,swing the alternator back out and tension the belt before doing up the bolts,use a long screwdiver as a "crowbar"to tighten.The belt should have 1/2/"play on the longest stretch between pulleys.....check the tension after 250 miles.(yes,it is that simple).
Loosen the adjustment bolt on the alternator, remove old belt, fit new one and stretch it slightly with the adjustment of the alternator until you have 2mm of deflection. Tighten up the bolt and take her for a run to charge the battery properly.
find what power output each alternater gives the battery.and if the fitting are the same also
if these match between each unit then yes you can use it.
just the plug, size,bolt holes, and power output an belt pulley have to be the same.

Just took one out last night. It also was stuck. Had to use small pry bar to get off the front mount. Sprayed the mount with PB blast to help. You do have to use some force, becareful not to break any electrical connections. Once the front mount was free, I had to pry up on it using a small hatchet. Only thing that would fit and actually be able to pry. The alternator became twisted from prying only on one side, so I used a block of wood and tapped it back straight. It finally released from the mounts and came loose. Then the fun begins in trying to actually get it out. Had to disconnect everything around it, took two people and alot of twisting and turning. Not looking forward to getting it back in. Removal took over 2 hours.
