I own a 1999 Dodge Durango SLT 2wd. Something is taking voltage from the ign.coil when the key is turned to the on position, the voltage is there at the same time the fuel pump is running but once it stops the voltage drops. it goes from 12v to about 2.8v
The power to the ignition coil comes from the Auto shut down relay. It also runs the fuel pump relay. When you turn the key on it will read 12 volts, but only for about 5 seconds. The auto shut down relay is controlled by the ecm. Check the power on the coil while cranking the engine. When cranking the ecm will lock on the ASD relay.

So if the voltage drops on the coil when cranking it over, does that mean the ECM is bad or the Relay?
Ok now what if my Relays are getting shortedout, would that be because of a bare wire or power back feeding from somewhere
