95 nissan altima brake light on ? - 1995 Nissan Altima

#1 check bulbs and sockets #2 check the switch located under the brake pedal to ensure it is being activated (and has not come unplugged) when pedal is pressed. This switch may be faulty (if its not the one you mentioned above).

You probably have a shorted Brake pedal switch under the dash. This is part of the interlock system which is suppose to stop you from starting the car without your foot on the brake.

The switch should be on the brake pedal lever. It is common for feet to hit it and crack, break, or move it out of position. You need to replace and adjust thisimportant part.

disconnect your brake light switch ,its in brake pedal once you disconnect ,brake light off,either swicht or grounded to other wire

there is a pressure switch under ur break pedal.it might come off happend on my altima i snapped in a penny and it solved it.switch needs to be pressed in inorder to turn the brake light off.good luck..

it could be the socket or the wiring, get a test light anc check voltage at the socket, also check the ground wire,

MOST LIKELY THIS IS A BTSI SOLENOID(BRAKE/TRANSMISSION SHIFT INTERLOCK)

Lets keep it simple if the wiring harness is in good condition lets not look at that... first check your fuse if the fuse is good... check for power... if you have power coming and going from the fuse then check your brake switch ( located under the dash) attached to brake pedal. Please make sure your light bulbs are both good also. If your brake light switch is good and you have tried everything else it is either going to be in your 4 way switch or wiring harness

Try this, Since you are applying the hand brake. Manually pull up on the emergency pedal and see if the light goes out. If this does work then you could have one of several problems. but, I am thinking that you might be able to adjust the brake tensioner if this car has one.

upper light or lower light. if it's the one in the back window,
you will be taking out the back seat.
