I have taken to 3 mechanics, the problem will not happend with the mechanic. The 1997 mitsibishi galant will start up without a problem, then without reason won't start. It is not battery, not the starter. What could be the problem? It is not the alternater. I had all these checked and replaced. The problem still continues. If the car sits for a couple of days to a week, it will start for about a month or two.

Manual transmission - the safety switch attached to the clutch pedal was the problem found in my Honda. (If you have a manuaI transmission an have to depress the clutch to the floor in order to start the vehicle thats what my car was doing.) I also did the same process of elimiation prior to that with the Alternator, Starter etc neg results.

Unfortunately Mitsubishi make provisions for checking and adjusting the ignition timing with the use of a scan tool. Most shops do have a scan tool that can be used to check and adjust the ignition timing. sorry friend

1997 Galant ES Odd issues

Stay with your mechanic, and see if he can follow through with your project. These problems are not related, unless the car was jump-started incorrectly, or the battery was replaced incorrectly...accordianman
