Stick key in driver door lock and unlock it. If that works, now see if the remote will unlock the door or doors..i remember reading in an owners manual once where you can program which doors open and close by they way you press and hold down the two main buttons, also after a battery change in the remote, i think, but not sure, i did this on a blazar i once owned... the owners manual said, that you had to be within 20 feet and press and hold down both buttons till it makes the arming sound.... Can i get some feedback cause im curious..thanks.

After I changed the battery in my 97 jetta gt alarm went off finally got it disabled by unlocking passenger door but now car won't start or even turn over how do I fix this

Your electrical system surged. Had the same happen on a 97 Golf. Start by replacing fuses connected to your starter and engine systems. If nothing happens, you may have to hit a VW repair shop for a systems reset, unfortunately.

Need to disable alarm system. tumbler in drivers door is worn out and we cannot disable alarm system to start vehicle, any thoughts? thanks! car is a 97 golf gti

Not positive if it works on VW's but try locking/ unlocking the passenger door with the key. There are sensors in both doors.

I installed a new battery on my 95 vw golf, however when I connect the terminals the alarm sounds on the car. How do I install it without the alarm sounding?

just connect the terminals, and wait till the alarm stops(30secs)then UNLOCK/HOLD KEY OVER 30 secs, windows go down.then lock/hold key over, windows go up.then press remote unlock button for 30 secs, you have just reset the alarm system/central locking/window comfort facility.....has to be done EVERY time you disconnect battery........

Didn't know my 93 vw golf had an alarm, now I had to disconnect the battery to shut if off.. what do I do to fix this?

I'm not sure if you have an aftermarket or factory alarm, but try this: hook up the battery and try unlocking/locking the door with the key. If you have a remote door lock, hit unlock/lock on that. I have come across a couple of cars this was all it took to stop the alarm, never tried with a VW though. Hope it works, good luck!
