Drivers side seat belt will not latch or even go all the way in to latch due to the latch mechanism staying closed. Is there a fix for it or does it just need to be replaced?

You really should just go to a salvage yard and purchase another latching mechanism, for safety reasons prying and shoving a screwdriver into the latch can be a temp fix that could interfere with safety later on down the road when you really need your safety belt...

2013 Chrysler 200 my passenger side seat belt is stuck around the head rest.

If the passenger side seat belt in your 2013 Chrysler 200 is stuck around the headrest, it could be due to a variety of issues. Here are a few things you may want to try:
  1. Check the seat belt retractor: The seat belt retractor is responsible for pulling the seat belt back into the housing when it is not in use. If the retractor is faulty or stuck, it could cause the seat belt to become stuck. You may be able to fix the problem by gently pulling on the seat belt to try and free the retractor.
  2. Check for debris: There may be debris or a foreign object stuck in the seat belt mechanism, causing it to become stuck. Carefully inspect the area around the seat belt and try to remove any debris that you find.
  3. Check the seat belt latch: The seat belt latch may be faulty or stuck, causing the seat belt to become stuck. You'll want to check the latch for any visible damage or problems and try to release it.
If you are unable to fix the problem, I recommend having a qualified mechanic diagnose and fix the issue for you. Seat belts are an important safety feature and it's important to ensure that they are functioning properly.

1997 Chevy Suburban. I closed the door on the seat belt on my Chevy Suburban. Now the door won't open and the seat belt appears to be caught on the door latch mechanism. How to open?

Question moved from Seat (Spanish Car maker) to Chevy.

Brute Force. Get in through the passenger side and roll down the window. Have a friend hold the door latch open. Lay across the front seats and push with your feet. Have another friend take video and be famous when it unlatches and your friend goes flying. :>D

Inspect the seat belt material for damage and replace if necessary.

Seat belt latch will not disengage when seat belt is not buckled. It seems that the spring may be getting worn out, but the latch stays engaged and will not retract so the seat belt can be buckled.

Sorry. I was exhausted and frustrated when I wrote the original post. Hopefully this clarifies:

The latching mechanism does not retract all the way when the button is pushed which does not allow the seat belt to be inserted all the way.

I fiddled with the passenger seat belt and found that that was the issue. I just need to know if I can fix that myself or if it needs to be replaced.

Automatic Seatbelt Inoperable

At the bottom of the pillar between the front and rear door is a round plastic plug that pops out of the plastic cover on the pillar. Inside is the electrical connection for the automatic seat belt mechanism. DISCONNECT it. Also in same hole at the bottom of the pillar is a hex head (allen wrench) bolt. Insert the proper size hex/allen wrench (six sided) into the head of the bolt and turn clockwise (if driver side) until you hear a CLICK. This will release the shoulder harness latch that is in the upper track in the window and it let's it return to the closed door and fastened belt position. DO NOT reconnect the power that you disconnected. This keeps the latch in a stationary position so you can use it manually. On the passenger side turn the hex bolt counter clockwise to release the latch and return it to the closed door position.
Now you have a shoulder harness system that is NOT automatic but it WORKS. You will have to manually latch the shoulder harness in addition to the lap belt. A TWO STEP process just like the older Toyotas. If you really want to fix the automatic system then you need to take apart the doors to get at the track and cables and motor--NOT EASY. Or you can let dealer fix for two hundred dollars each !

1999 Dodge 2500 passenger side seat belt wont release

so after completely tearing the seat apart I found 2 wires going up to the seat belt mechanism from under the seat, these wires got caught in the seat mechanism underneath and were shredded. There must be a small solenoid inside the seat belt mechanism because I could hear it click after I repaired the wires(this circuit is live even with the ignition off) Im not sure how it all works but this solved my problem.
