Hi there.
Sometimes the engine on our Toyota Camry GL station wagon (2000), wont start. Sounds like the starter engine is whiring but not engaging/turning the engine? Then just before it will start the engine there is a clunking sound. What is the likely casue and how best to fix it please?

You need a new starter bendix, or a whole starter. Best do it soon before you tear the teeth of the flex plate. Once you do that you have to pull the transmission to change it.
