On the console there should be a little door. If you open the door and use a narrow screwdriver in this hole it should allow you to take the car out of park. Be sure that you have your foot on the brake when you do this or the car may move.
Is it a "stick" in the console between the driver and passenger seats, or is it a pedal you push down? If it is in the center console, try starting the car, putting it from park into NEUTRAL with your foot on the brake, and pull up on the stick a little while pushing in the button. If the button goes in, push the handle back down, put the car back into park, and take your foot off the brake. I'm not real familiar with the Pacifica, so a description of the parking brake would help.
Your car was likely involved in recall K16 for a transmission interlock spring clip, if it breaks your car gets stuck in park. You will most likely have to have you car towed to a dealership to get the repair, the recall repair is free although you may have other problems that would be your liability.
Had this happen to me yesterday. Remove the liner in the cup holder. There is a hole that you can stick your finger in to push the gear release lever forward. If that does not work, pull up the chrome bezel around the gear shift. there is a pink piece of plastic attached to a spring, push that down and towards the rear of the car and you should be able to shift freely until you put it in park again. Make sure the car is running and your foot is on the brake while trying either solution.
MY DID THE SAME THING JUST YESTERDAY, I STARTED IT WITH EASE BUT COULDN'T MOVE OUT OF PARK AT ALL.
-I WAS TOLD THAT YOU HAVE TO POP OUT THE SILVER CENTER MOLDING AROUND YOUR GEAR SHIFT.
-LOOK TO THE LEFT NEAR THE (D) AND (N), THERE'S A SMALL PINK PLASTIC THING THAT ---HAD---A SPRING ON IT, THE SPRING POPPED OFF. SO A QUICK REPAIR TO GET IT TO A SHOP WOULD BE TO GET A SCREW FLAT HEAD DRIVER, FIT IT IN THE GROVE A THE PINK THING AND SHIFT IT TO THE REAR/LEFT. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO DRIVE IT
I assume that you have to press the brake pedal in order to shift from park (ie:safety switch) you might first check to see if you have brake lights as they should be on the same circut and operated by the same switch. If the lights dont work, check the fuses could be a simple fix. Hope this helps
