My 1993 toyota corolla can't start. prior to buying a new battery, the car would crank up on some days and not on other days. i would play with the ignition for at least 5 minutes to get it started
Check the starting circuit. Start at the battery. Load test it (or have the auto parts store do it...most perform this test for free). If that is ok, check the wires to the starter solenoid. Look for loose connections, bolts, and/or corrosion. If you have power there, and it will not crank, It should be your starter or solenoid. It will be sold to you rebuilt or new and will come complete as one unit as the solenoid is integral to the starter. Make sure you do not have an alarm that is armed. I think that is a non issue on this particular year. My best guess is that the starter needs a replacement and that you should service the connections from thje battery to the starter and be back on the road.
