First check the fuse for the horn and see if it is blown. if that is ok, check the switch/button in the steering wheel where you press the horn to see if its making a connection.

Testimonial: "thank you for that i been trying to fix it for a while and nothing work. thanks again"

There is a relay switch on the passenger side under the hood secured to the side wall....this component is most likely your problem.

2001 montero sport xls sport horn on my alarm how do i stop it i pulled the fuse but it is still goint

You need to determine if it's the horn or the alarm. My Montero (not Sport) had 3 horns. All 3 of which go off w/ the Alarm, but only one is connected to the horn on the steering wheel. I could not make mine go off w/o pulling the relay under the hood.

My spring was bad in the steering wheel. I was able to bypass the wire using instructions that I actually found on a Mitsubishi Forum. Link below:

My 1998 montero sport horn wont work I checked the fuses they,re ok.

Check the connection to the horn? be sure they are properly grounded. Also the horn switch on the steering wheel may be not making a connection with the ring plate behind the steering wheel and before the column.

How do I replace the airbag on my 1998 mitsubishi montero sport

Hi,

Unfortunately the horn switch is not serviceable on this vehicle.

The horn switch is built into the air bag assembly and can not be removed safely, nor are service parts available for it even if you could. If there is a problem with the horn switch, the air bag must be replaced.

1998 Montero Sport 4x4 V6 transmission with 205,000 miles doesn't shift. Just changed the tranny filter and fluid and it still doesn't shift.

I have never seen a trans with 205,000 miles on it,
& I once owned a trans repair shop

So pull it out & have it rebuilt

Fluid is changed to replace it's ability to
remove heat, no other reason

How to change horn on 1998 montero sport

Just changed my horns on my 98 Montero Sport and come to find out it was the horn relay. The horn relay is located near your power steering resivour its a small black square you will see some electrical lines running to it. Give it a couple taps and then try out your horn again. If that dosnt work your horns are located right behind your turn signals on your front bumper, they are circluar 3in and golden colored. You can get dealer ship replacement horns for 30 plus dollars or go to a autozone or advance auto and get aftermarket ones
