The mechanical fuel pump is mounted on the side of the head, centered
between the runners of the intake manifold. The intake manifold does not
require removal, but access can be tricky. A selection of socket
extensions, swivels and open end wrenches can be helpful.

The 318 was an engine fitted to all manner of vehicles dating back for quite a few years.A torqueflite sounds right although your trans woulld be different than sedan etc due to having a trransfer case to have to run.It may be easier to drop it off at auto trans specialist who can recondition the original one.At least it would save hassles from compatibility issues etc.For engine parts look under sedans that used the same engine.Asalvage yard would be a good place to look for the numbers you need .Are there no web sites that deal with your type of truck?4x4 clubs etc
