your steering wheel has tension on it - are your front wheels parked against a curb or were you turning your steering wheel while you shut off the car? Try pulling hard left and turning the key. If that doesn't work, pull hard right while turning the key. You may have to pull really hard if you are a smaller person.
If he hit you hard he probably hit the front wheel. If yes, the most likely problem is the track rod ends. These are adjustable links that connect the wheels to the steering rack assembly. They connect to the wheel hub behind the brake disc with ball joint pivots that can snap if hit too hard.
The impact from an accident can create a shock wave of damage so there could be damage to the steering rack as well as the suspension links and ball joints.
THE 1ST THING TO CHECK I BOTH SPEED CONTROL SENSORS LOCATED ON THE BACK SIDE OF YOUR WHEEL HUB...SOMETIMES THEY CAN BE CLEANED..TRUN WHEEL HARD RIGHT FOR RIGHT CABLE HARD LEFT FOR LEFT CABLE...PULL PIN OUT THEN CABLE VERY EASY TO REPLACE
Could be air in system and right side not applying brakes. Also the internal rubber in brake line where solid metal line attaches to can deteriorate and form a blockage for brake fluid to not reach caliper on right side.
swap the tire from left to right if the opposite happens then you have a tire pull this is known as a radial pull and the fix is either you rotate front to rear or a new set of tires
IF you were able to press ******* the steering wheel to fet it to stop before an not now , i would say take the steering wheel apart an chec the horn switch ! Do you know how it works ? When you push the horn switch it's just giving the circuit a ground in side . You can test from the relay to see if the switch is always grounding . VEHICLE RELAYS Operation Diagnosis
Pull the wheel, you will find that the brake pad,or after pulling the drum, the shoes are in bad shpe,if not ,check the wheel bearing, but my bet is the shoes,or pads are bad,do A brake job,it will most likely be the problem.
I just had this happen to me yesterday with my 2002 Santa Fe. After trying everything (jiggling steeling wheel, shaking the car, you name it we tried it). We got a chain and pulled the car ahead about 2 feet. That didn't seem to do anything but we then pulled up the emergency brake into the lock position and tried to start the car (with the ER brake on) and it worked!!! The steering wheel came unlocked and the car started up. Don't know if it was the pulling of the car that broke something free or if it was the ER brake, but that was what worked for me.
Absolutely NOT true. Pulling to the right is most likely du to an alignment problem for example needs camber/Caster adjustment or may be a bad tire. It can even mean toe adjustment in the front of the rear is off. But excessive pulling can be due to a bent chassis/frame if vehicle was na an accident before. Good Luck and contact me if you need more help. If I fixed ya leave me a FIX-YA comment
