You reset the service light by pulling off the rubber plug/cover on the instrument cluster (to the left of the speedometer) and pressing (use a pen or screwdriver) the peg there. It should reset the Service Light. If it doesn't then there is something wrong with the button, but its not really worth fixing unless you want to take apart the cluster.

My 1995 940 Volvo just lost power while driving and stopped. After trying to restart the car it seemed like it just wasn't getting gas.

I had the same problem and fixed it with only one nut to remove and one easy plug in part the Crankshaft Position Sensor is located between the firewall and the engine on the bell housing which connects the engine to the driveshaft Right on the top shine a light down in there and remove the nut to the left of the sensor sticking up and unplug it check the wires to see if they are rotted mine were all rotted and touching eachother went and bought the part at autozone for $55 plugged it in and it now works perfectly! hope this helps

Service light comes on in 1995 940 sedan 4-cylinder. goes off after about 10 minutes. Is this a problem? Can it or should it be reset?

Service light comes on whenever the computer senses some problem with the engine, it can be a small problem with one of the sensors but it might also mean serious trouble. get the car diagnosed.

Hello , I've a Volvo 940 1995 with a b200ft engine. Recently I've noticed that black smoke comes from exhaust & a very poor mileage about 9 miles per gallon, engine rough at idle but clears up on...

Black smoke points to unburnt fuel. I would start by replacing the spark plugs and wires if you have not done so in the last couple of years.
