I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GT p the fuel pressure regulator is on the fuel pump itself in the tank and when it goes bad it will start barely idle and go to give it gas it will fall on his face but stay idling should be a plate end trunk that will give you access to the fuel pump regulator will be on the side
A fuel pressure test should be performed as I suspect the fuel pressure regulator is leaking fuel into the vacuum line causing the engine to flood on restart.
A drop in fuel pressure would confirm this.
