Hi. There is a ground wire on the frame about half way back. Be sure there is a good connection. Plus check every other ground wire. Do Not spend money on parts until you have cleaned every ground terminal!! This is an on going prob with Ford.

Ford has an inertia safety cut out switch in the trunk. You have to just reset it.

02 ford focus flooding so no start. I pull fuse an it will eventually start. But runs outta gas. Driver fuel module. Under seat?

Driver fuel module ???? Under the back seat ? The part your calling a driver fuel module is the fuel pump driver module ! What fuse do you pull ? If you would like help you need to go into more details . Your vehicle has electronic returnless fuel system (computer controlled ) Having the vehicle checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes could shed some light on to the problem . There is a fuel pressure sensor on the fuel injector fuel rail ,this is a input to the PCM engine computer .The PCM talks to the FPDM -fuel pump driver module to speed up or slow down the fuel pump .

Did you check B+ voltage an ground to fuel pump before you replaced it ? Did you look at a wiring diagram to see what controls the fuel pump ? There is a fuel pump relay in the central junction box , an there is the inertia fuel cut off switch , an then there is the biggest problem on this ford , the fuel pump driver module. The fuel pump driver module is controlled by the engine computer . I have a 2004 F150 was running fine. started it, ran for about 30 sec then died. Replaced the fuel piump driver module (badly corroded) still will not start. Will not turn over with the new module...

Is the theft light flashing? When you turn the key on?? If so check the first relay you see in the inside fuse box it is smaller than the big square ones 3/4 of the way up the box. It sits closest toward you looking at the box. Pull it out and check for any type of burning on the terminals. Try to switch it out with another one in the box. It sits horizontal compared to the others.

It's probably the FPDM - fuel pump driver module . The fuel pump is controlled by pulse width modulation by a electronic control module .electronic Returnless fuel system . The fuel rail pressure sensor is a input to the PCM - engine computer , when low fuel pressure the PCM sends a command to the FPDM to turn the fuel pump on longer . This part FPDM has known high failure rate on F-150 of your year . Because of location it corrodes an shorts out inside .

F150- replaced starter, still won't start. Replaced cellanoid, still won't start. Any ideas?

For new body style 2004, not a 2004 heritage or lightning
Is this a case of crank no start, or no crank no start ?
Will the truck start in neutral ?

If you turn the key from off to run ( do not start ) does the theft light on the top of the dash go out ( this is the LED in the wart on the driver's side ).

Have you tried resetting the fuel inertia switch in the passenger side kick panel ?

If you get a crank no start, and the theft light is going out, might need to check the FPDM ( Fuel Pump Driver Module ) to see if it is cranked in half. The FPDM powers the fuel pump, after the fuel inertia switch.

You need to lower the spare tire to get a good look at it.
This is mine from my 2006 F-150, it was still working, at the tiem I changed it, the housing was the only thing cracked.

This is taken from the rear bumper, facing the front of the truck. Driver's side rear tire on the left, the cable on the right side of the picture is for the spare tire winch.

This is the FPDM close up, the housing was only borken on mine, but the corrosion would have soon broke the PC board in the FPDM.

The new one has stand offs to alleviate the corrosion pushing on the FPDM.

I would check the fuel pump driver module. Silver box 3" x 2" mounted on frame cross member above spare tire. These modules have a tendency to corrode and crack allowing water inside. The result is erratic fuel pump operation and fuel related fault codes

Hope this helps

2004 f150

It's more then likely the fuel pump driver module ! Your truck doesn't have a pressure regulator . It has electronic returnless fuel system . Computer controlled module controls the fuel pump , an where they located this FPDM - back above the spare tire on the rear axle housing , and they corrode an then moisture get's inside . Watch this video .
