No spark = bad coil, bad coil connections(check all for tightness), bad distributor cap or rotor(assuming vehicle doesn't use coil packs, which i doubt for a 91)

okay, so new coil pack and still no spark to any plug? My next step would be to check all the fuses. If you do find a bad fuse you can return the coil pack you just replaced to get your money back. If you have a voltometer you can check for power going to the coil pack, too... if you're getting no coil to the pack you know the problem is somewhere between the pack and fuse box. Also make sure to check the relay fuse box under the hood. It's hard to tell though sometimes when you don't know which fuse does what. it's always best to have a book handy for your particular vehicle that will have those diagrams. but for now, just check all the fuses you can visually and see if you find a blown one. If you do, replace it, and if it blows again you have a short somewhere.

SOURCE: 1991 subaru legacy, the engine cranks over but

First things first, does it have gas? have you pulled a spark plug wire to see if it has a spark when turning it over? in my expeirence i have run into three things, Timing belt failure, cam or crank sensor failure or the ignitor box on the firewall.have you checked any of these?

I was driving my 1991 subaru legacy and it just died. It still turns over and is not out of gas but it won't start back up. I assume it is a fuel or spark problem but I am not very familiar with fuel...

either an ignition module or a sensor on a vehicle this old ,think the sensor might be inside the distributor on this one,and the module under the coil

Will not start--new battery,alternator,cam sensor,crank sensor,plug wires..gets fuel and spark,starter fine,cranks but wont start.

put a timing light on it. if in time then spray some ether in intake. if tries to run now its a fuel problem. make sure plugs are gapped properly. if you got timing, spark, gas at right pressure, and compression it should run.

1991 subaru legacy turns over but will not start check every on it has spark and fuel. driving it one day it as running then just died? so can u help me please.

Possibly the timing belt is broken. How does the engine sound when you crank the starter. Does it sound "normal" or does it sound fast and quiet? Have someone else crank the starter, can you feel any pressure coming out of the tailpipe? If the timing belt is broken the engine will sound very quiet and there will be no pressure coming out the tailpipe.

Is the check engine light on? If so, rent a scanner, read out any code(s), and pursue to repairs. If no spark or fuel, suspect either the camshaft or crankshaft sensor to be defective (should show up on the above scan).

Water introduced through the fuel system. Drain tank and lines, refill, and add HEET.
