I just changed the right rear power window motor and regulator because it didn't go up or down. After putting everything back together with the new motor and regulator I turned on the car and hit the switch. The window went up and when i tried to make it go down it would not. I tried from both the main switch and fro the rear window switch. What could be wrong and where should I look? All of the other windows and locks are working. Please help

The master switch on the left front door hold the keys to all. supply your own power the the switch with like a battery from a power drill to see if its the switch in the master assembly.

Testimonial: "You was right!! Master switch was the problem. I just switched out the master switch with another one and it's working. I should have tried that first"

Po wer window was stuck in the down position. Pulled off door panel and plug had power to the motor for up and down. The GM dealer was out of motors so I went to the local salvage yard. Put used...

well if you have power for up and down at the plug then it isnt a relay or fuse issue or you would have no power, did you just replace the motor only? it might be the regulator also, if it went down and wouldnt go back up then thats probably the issue a failed window regulator and thats the assembly that attaches the window to the motor and allows the motor to move the window

Where is the rear window relay located on the 2002 Ford Explorer sport trac. Not the rear door windows but the very back window.

  • The power rear window is inoperative (Explorer Sport Trac only)
  • Circuitry.
  • Battery Junction Box (BJB) fuse 3 (30A).
  • Central Junction Box (CJB) fuse 20 (7.5A).
  • Power rear window control switch.
  • Rear window glass motor.

NOTE: The power rear window motor is not on the multiplex link. Any diagnosis and testing carried out on the power rear window will not involve the GEM module. NOTE: The reinitialization procedure must be carried out when repairs are performed on any part of the power rear window system including when the power rear window motor is removed from the window regulator drum housing, a new power rear motor is installed, a new power rear window regulator is installed, a new power rear window module is installed, and any operation in which grease or lubricants are applied to the power rear window system.

HOW DO I CHANGE THE REGULATOR FOR A REAR WINDOW ON 2000 VOLVO S80

Im not 100% sure about the rear but with the front windows i removed the panel then the foam piece. I then removed the torx screws holding the regulator from the motor itself there were three in the front windows not sure about the back. There were 4 rivits holding the regulator to the door which i had to drill out. Once i put the new regulator in i put new rivits in attatched the window to the regulator via the blue clips and put it all back together.

My driver side front window does not come down but the passanger side front and back and driver back do go up and down. Do i need to change the power window motor or is it the window regulator for driver...

regulator usually wears out and breaks or gets bound and burns up motor, change them both if available. Good sign of bad regulator is sloppy window in track, or window off track. I always replace them together if they are available. it is possible that you just need a switch, but most likely the reg/motor.

How to change window motor gear on 91 f-150

To remove the window motor on this truck remove the door panel to access the window regulator and motor assembly. The regulator might be riveted in so you will have to knock out the rivets to remove it and replace them with bolts and nuts. Once you remove the rivets lower the regulator and window down to slide regulator out of the channel on the bottom of the window once removed from window push window back up and tape in position to pull regulator and motor out unbolt motor of regulator being careful not to let tension spring on regulator to release real fast it will mess it up. Replace motor and reinstall regulator assembly back in the door on the window and bolt into place. Put door back together.
