Gas smell

I had a similar problem with a 2000 Kia Sportage. The check engine light came on all the time. Part of the problem seemed to be the fuel cap having high pressure. Then one fine day I smelled gas fumes from the rear of the vehicle. After removing the fuel pump cover in the rear behind the seats, I found gas coming from a hose from the tank. I then (sometime later) I found a crack in another hose. The hose was from the filler neck. It caused a lack of vapor pressure and a smell. The check engine light now was off.

Is chasses on kia sportage 2001 model strong

about as strong as folded 1mm thick sheet metal can be. Most cars now do not have a chassis but are uni-construction which means that the whole body is the chassis and if you are planning in fitting a tow bar to the car then get a tow bar fitter to do the job with an approved tow unit that has been designed to spread the stress over a large section of the car.
