The gas flap is operated with the central locking, stand at rear of car with tailgate open, just inside to the right, under the floormat you will find the central locking pump.but first renew the batteries in the remotes then unlock the car with the key and hold the key over for 30 secs, the windows may go down,
then lock the car with the key and hold over for 30 secs, the windows may go up and the sunroof,if fitted will close, then unlock with remote button held down for 30 secs, this will reset alarm/central locking.
if you need to get to gas flap, pull carpet away in boot behind flap area and pull wire to unlock....

The air powered centrol locking is a pain, not the least because of the high cost of a replacement circuit board.

I can't quite remember how I overcame the problem. I think I applied either pressure or suction to the air pipe to unlock everything and then once everything was unlocked I was able to manually lock and unlock each door and in this case the boot lid. The fuel flap was left unlocked without problems.

2000 VW Golf. My windows and sunroof won't close (no noise, no trying, nothing) but everything else seems to work fine. Any ideas?

Fuse blown - look for the one with the key symbol it powers windows/locks/interior lights/sunroof operation. Then work out why it blows...could be anything on the circuit so check a lock isn't sticking on/off when operating the central locking.

Central locking

tumbler in door lock breaks off inside of door and just the drivers door will work. it is not turning the alarm part inside the door.
