Like the person above said, you cannot just disable the system by pulling a fuse. It is integrated into the body control module. However, on this model, check the hood pin switch. It is on the passenger side under the hood, about half way back on the fender. You'll find it right along the edge where the hood and fender meet. That switch needs to be "backed off" a little bit so it does not connect with the hood closed. Unscrew it slightly and put tape or something else to maintain the space between the bracket and the switch. Alternatively you can just unplug it. It won't trip the alarm, but then your hood is unprotected when the alarm is armed. Good luck!

Disable factory alarm

The alarm tripping is often caused by a bad door or hood switch. Since the hood switch is always exposed to water and corrosion, that one usually goes bad first. Check that out. And no, you can't disable it.

My car alarm comes on randomly and I would like to disable the alarm.

The easiest way to disable the alarm is simply to cut the power wire to the alarm horn. When you have more time, you can try to locate the actual power wire to the alarm, which is usually hidden so thieves can't find it.

I need to disable the factory installed alarm. It keeps going off randomly. Suggestions?

Unhook the battery, light the car on fire, blow it up, or you could find the wiring diagram and just unhook the fuse for the alarm system. Or just find out where the power input is. If you disconnect the power it might go off though because of backup power module but if you unhook the battery for like 30 seconds and then do it it shouldnt beep at you. Good luck!

Hi there, The car alarm on my 2007 Camry keeps going off randomly. I don't really want a car alarm. How do you disable it? Thanks, Richard

can you check under hood, there is a fuse box, remove fuse box lid, inside is printed names of circuits if you have an alarm circuit , remove that fuse, then check if car starts and runs, if so, alarm is disabled.

2004 Nissan Quest - alarm Waking the neighbors

If it's a cheap aftermarket alarm, check for a red wire coming off the hot side of your battery with an inline fuse. If it's not, try to locate the alarm "computer" under the driver's side dash or nearby your fuse panel. You'll find a black box with a wiring diagram glued to the side, normally strapped to a wiring harness or other fixed element. If this is the type of alarm you have, you'll need to trace each wire coming from the alarm computer and unclip each fastener that's clipped to your vehicle's factory wiring. The trouble with these types of alarms is that they tie in and get power from a number of sources (stereo, interior lights, etc.), so you'll have to trace and unclip 8-12 wires to fully disengage. Good luck!

98 mustang gt factory alarm

I had this problem with an aftermarket alarm on my accent once.  Check your battery cables and terminals, if there is a bad connection or any corrosion this will cause the alarm to act up.  if that is not the problem, try the fuse box, see if there is a fuse labeled alarm or something like that, if nothing else important is on the same fuse just pull it out.  Or you could just locate the horn for the alarm and cut and cap the wires on it.  That would disable the alarm from making any sound, all other functions would remain intact.  good luck.
