My 2005 4runner smells from sweating floor mats

My 2005 4runner smells ...but I think the problem is the heat vents that run under the floor . On long drives in cold weather the under floor heat ducts cause sweating under the floor mats this cuase mildew and some electrical problems that may/could cause loss of braking and sudden accelleration issues. These under floor heat ducts may also be the cause of acceleration problems in other toyota models as it creates an environmnet for electrical malfunction.

Car smells musty needto know where drain plug is located

the drain plugs are located under the floor mats in the floor pan . If you look from underneath you will see the round plugs .If the carpets have been wet that bad then you will never get rid of the musty ( fungus) smell . consider new floor mats

My 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe has an antifreeze smell coming from the vents no matter if I use the AC or heat or vent. When using the heat it fogs up the windows. Mechanics find no leaks and smell no smell. But...

I suspect that the thermostat is stuck which would account for the "sweet smell" of anti freeze. Replace the thermostat and do a drain/fill with the antifreeze to correct the problem.

I am loosing antifreeze collant about a cup a day. I am brown gook in my radiator and the reservor. I smell antifreeze and for a couple of days my windsheild would fog up. I have not seen any antifreeze...

Usually when you have these symptoms, the first thing you should look for is coolant in the passenger side floorboard. Just run your hands over the carpet and feel for dampness. if you have floor mats, ne sure to check under the floor mat. If it is damp you are most likely going to have a leaking heater core or heater core hose

Wet floor mats and stinky ac/heat unit...

Your drain lines are clogged, and need to be blown out with compressed air. What you are smelling is mold.

Vents in 98 BMW smell like paint when either heat/defroster or a/c is on. Very toxic smell. Gives me an instant headache. Noticed it first in the summer while using a/c, but also smells with heater.

You also might want to look under the padding on the passenger side floor, this appears to be a leaking heater core. This does not always show itself as a low fluid level for it is very gradual. On the floor uder the rug you may see signs of leakage.

Wet under driver's side floor mat

Is there a sweet smell inside the car?Heater core leak I beleive would be on passenger side floor.Antifreeze will be sweet to the nose. Are you getting any white smoke out the tailpipe? would likely be head gasket leak.Put a piece of cardboard under the car near the radiator and under the motor to see where its leaking from .One thing Ive learned over the years is that its going somewhere. On the ground? Or out the tailpipe.
As for the floor board leak the 98 s were prone to have the defrost area in front of windshield collect water from being plugged up .Mine was passenger floorboard.Daughter resealed small oval vent (that defrosts /heats hood?) LOL .Its on pass. side under hood on cowl .I think this will take care of my problem but you may need to investigate under the dash/defrost area and drill and then install a drain line to bottom of defroster.Exit drain line to O/Side of car...lol .Also was it raining ? was car outside in rain .if so it could be this issue.Sorry so long ,hope you can make heads or tails of this.
