SOURCE: How do you replace the battery in a keyless remote

hello there
first you will need to remove the cover usingaflat tip screwdriver
look for a slot on theback of the fob or it may even have a slot inthe middle of the back for it simply pry up on the slot or it may unscrew or pop off
and it will come off
once your battery cover removed. Before you tear the battery that gave you weeks of frustration right out of the thing, take a look at how it's in there so you can put the new battery in correctly. Most remotes have a + sign on the side that gets the + side of the battery facing up, but you'd be mad if yours was the remote that decided not to provide that info.:

I have a 2008 Pontiac G6 and it came with a remote keyless entry and remote start and the remote start is no longer working. When I try to start it the lights flash and the dash lights come on but it does...

I think that the module for the remote start is bad, possibly the connection to the starter circuit is bad.

I would take the vehicle to an auto electric service shop in your area that installs remote starters to diagnose and repair the problem.

Programing keyless entry for a 2006 Pontiac G6

Do not circumvent the process. Take all your FOBs to a Pontiac/GM dealer. Pay the $40ish to get it all done and walk away with officially programmed FOBs. There is no other way to do this unless you have the highly expensive scan tools they use. Just bite the bullet

Keyless remote for G6

Keyless remote kits, just as starters are available at most automotive stores as well as locations like some Best Buys.
AutoZone, PepBoys might be a good place to start.
You can also buy and get installed at many auto accessory aftermarket supply locations.
