Does the power come on but it just does not start? If this is so check your connections. A loose battery connection could cause this. Crank it down hard (not too hard but hard enough to make it not move with force) and see if it corrects the problem. If this does not work check any connection you messed with. Then check your fuses for each part. There are many fuses in a cluster that could cause your car not to start. Easiest way is to check the batt, then fuses, then connections. If this does not work get back to be and ill work it out with you.

Do you hear the fuel pump running on the prime cycle (when you turn on the key) (runs for 3 seconds) or when you have oil pressure?Have someone listen back by the tank for the wrrrrr. If you do have to change the fuel pump, make your life easy and just tilt up (lift) the pickup box from the drivers side to access the fuel pump.Takes 20 minutes to change it that way.
YOU NEED A LITTLE TUNE UP.REPLACE FUEL FILTER, REPLACE AIR FILTER,CLEAN FUEL INJECTORS.REPLACE SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES.IF ENGINE STILL SHAKE YOU COULD HAVE FUEL PUMP OR FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR PROBLEMS.
It sounds like it may be the fuel pump. Have someone turn the ignition key to the 'On' position (don't start car) and listen to hear if you have a whining coming from your fuel tank. If not, your pump is bad. If that's not the culprit, then check your gas. You may have had a bad fill up. Try adding some octane boost to your gas and changing your fuel filter.
1st why fuel boost? what kind? fuel pump humming when key on? if not ,,fuel pump bad,,or fuel pump relay, easy to check, put hand on relay, turn key on , no vibration relay bad
your fuel pump is starting to go bad...blazars are notorious for fuel pump problems and if if is the pump dont use the cheap aftermarket one.... within the next 30k it might come back again..by a dealer stock pump. let me have some feedbacor rate this, thanks.
Hook fuel pressure gauge up to port near firewall. A battery charger sometimes boosts the vehicle voltage just enough to engage weak fuel pump. Should show 50-60 lbs all the time while cranking when not starting on battery.
I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 1999 GMC YUKON WITH THE 5.7 ENGINE HAVING TO JUMP START ALL THE TIME TO GET IT RUNNING, THE PROBLEM WITH MINE WAS THE FUEL PUMP HAD TO BE REPLACED, EVEN WHEN I REMOVED THE PUMP AND TURNED THE KEY FUEL PUMPED OUT BUT WAS NOT ENOUGH PRESSURE TO GET AND KEEP THE ENGINE RUNNING.I ALSO TRIED STARTER FLUID, THE ENGINE WOULD RUN UNTIL THE FLUID BURNED OFF.SO THE SOLUTION FOR MY TRUCK WAS THE FUEL PUMP AND NOW ITS STARTING LIKE A CHAMP
To really give you the "right" answer I am going to need a little more information from you.
Did the car run when you gave him the car?
Why was the mechanic changing the fuel pump?
If the car ran when you gave him the car and then after he changed the fuel pump it wouldn't start I would have to say it has something to do with his removal and installation. Or the actual fuel pump itself. Was he installing a brand new or used pump?
He must not have gotten the wires back on the sender or in the wrong order causing the "new" fuel pump to not work thereby making your car not start.
Or atleast something along those lines. Like I said without a little more background I can't give you the exact answer.
Well good luck and I did my best with the information you provided.
