My battery died on my 1997 Mercedes E420 and locked the radio. I need to reset the code but do not know where to find it.

Take the vehicle, your registration papers and some form of proof or ID to the local dealership and they will be able to give you the code, then simply enter the code following the procedure given in the Manual for the radio..

yes that is standard practice m You need to get hold of the code...if you do not have it try a mercedes garage, they may be able to trace it for you or help you get it. It may be listed in thne documantation somewhere

We are having a problem with the keyless entry for mercedes e420...the battery was dead and now it will not work any suggestions?
Not familiar with mercedes, but if it works like many other brands, the receiver unit in the car "forgot" the code when battery died. There is a procedure in owners manual for receiver to relearn the code transmitted by the key. When you do this, dont forget to repeat the procedure for the secondary key.

I left interior lights on...battery died..jumped it but cd player not working since..was told it was Theft Lock that needed to be reset..is this same as radio reset?
theft lock is for your powertrain.....radio has its own separate code.....can have the code found at dealer or you can pull the radio and call the code in to dealer to turn radio back on
