I wouldnt clean it i would simply replace it. its about 100 dollars at autozone and while you have it off go ahead and clean the metal tube that goes into the housing that the egr valve attches to. its probably clogged up with carbon get a pocket knife and poke at it till it breakes then blow air into it to make sure its clear.

Where is the egr valve on the V-6 Engine?

Not easy to see, but on drivers side of engine underneath intake manifold, so look for airflow intake tube, the larger air tube, and it is just below and to the firewall about middle of engine top to bottom. Hose comes out of it and two bolts hold it in, pretty easy to see once you know where it is located, but difficult to change. Sometimes just cleaning hose out will solve problem. Worth a try to buy EGR cleaner and spray and run a wire inside hose to loosen up carbon.

EGR Solenoid creates no vacuum

The EGR solenoid is located towards the rear of the car from the EGR vavle and slightly towards the center. It kind of stands on end. There is a vacuum line coming out the top (port C) and a green 2 wire connector plugged into it. Hope this helps.
