Does it seem like when the engine is cold it runs ok, then when it reaches operating temp. it starts acting up? (poor acceleration, stalling) When I had that problem w/ my 93 K1500, it ended up being my oxygen sensor. (causing too rich of a mixture in the throttle body)
Hope this helps, Good luck
I would be suspecting a faulty condenser and coil as when they reach operating temperature they start to break down electrically.. Check that the auto choke is coming off and not tending to over fuel the engine
Hi, my scudo van won't start and the STOP light is flashing. One minute the van was fine then the next it won't start now. My mechanic can't fix the problem as says its an electrical fault maybe the immobliser?? Can someone help? Thanks.
Hi im shane from s l autos we have a fiat scudo from new v reg 19 td had it from new 100,000 miles now all ways been good but there now there is a eletric propblem start uo fine and then 2 to 5 min just turn off like if u was turning the key off now i have cange ucu and a lot off the other main parts from one off my other scudos but still the same .i thought it was the pump cutting off as the imobolizer is in side now i find the live and put a test light to see if the power is still there when the engine stops ,so now there is just a faint light and its makeing the grow plug relay cick so i thoght i cut the live wire to the pump and put a live feed from batter to pump to see what happens ,,it runs but i get the engine light on dash comeing on and off and all so the grow plugs light ,, Now does that mean it is the pump ???? because if so i got to remove the pump to get the swich out off the pump
many thanks people as i been of the phone to Fiat and i think i have forgot more than they know lol
cheers shane
Sounds like you're starting fine and there's no apparent problem with the engines electrical impulses in regards to wires, plugs, coil etc,..
Which it sounds like you're running off residual fuel but continuous fuel supply is being disrupted.
I'm all but certain if you pull a SP it'll have unburned fuel on it. Check your fuel pump, filter, pressure regulator and injectors
From those symptoms the pump could be faulty, filter clogged and only feeding seepage, the regulator could be flooding it out ot the injectors aren't opening { clogged }
What do you get when you try to press the accelerator when it's running or have you not tried that?
I to have searched for a manual, but haynes don't do one, however Peter Russek manuals do cover the scudo, with everything covered except gearbox overhaul and body panels. Search on ebay, can get em for about 15 quid. hope that helps my friend.
hi comman fault on these vans is the temp sender which is located on the right hand side of the engine it has 2 wires on a connector that plug onto it they are quite cheap about £8-£10 and i think its a 19mm spanner you will need just undo and refit with new one. regards
