What is a PCM? Is that the ECU? So it is not a separate module I can take out?

  • Anonymous Mar 08, 2010

Thanks for your response. My cruise is not getting any power and I was hunting to see if it had a module as in previous models. Would you advise to try cleaning the switch? Any other things I should try before shelling out a ton of money for a new PCM?

Thanks for your help. So is it part of the PSM board or a seperate module that can be removed? The reason I ask is that on the previous models, you can removed the board and solder the broken connections. Is this possible on this model? Thanks again guys

yes it is and it should be replaced but not detrimental

  • Anonymous Mar 09, 2010

it is incorporated into the psm mod. and why not replace the module if you can do it yourself you will save a lot of money, just the cost of the mod..

SOURCE: Can't locate where the cruise control module is on 2002 Audi S4.

After a certain model year, the module above the glovebox disappeared and the controls it contained were built into the car's computer. If your cruise in your S4 is failing, it's most likely the combination switch (the stalk on the column) - it fails on virtually every B5-chassis Audi at some point (I'm about to install my third one on my 99 A4). Get that part, install it, and you should be good to go.
