You might need to turn it off manually because there is a switch in the car that is meant for switching it on and off or setting it to come on when doors open and go off when doors close.

Good luck dear.

Have you got a remote for this car?

Do you know how to reprogramme the key?

    Do respond fast.

  • Anonymous Mar 07, 2010

Couple of times when you replace the remote battery, you might
have them not working/ responding but just follow the procedure below.

    Stand
    close
to the car, hold down the open and close knobs for about 10
seconds. Press them at the same time for 3 seconds; then press the open
    button as the car opens.

The above procedure is applicable to a
lot of car brands. It does not matter how many knobs you might have on
    the remote fob.

I have carried this procedure out on a lot of
brands ranging from Honda, Toyota, Rover, Ford, etc. and it works
    perfectly well.

    Good luck and Rate this.

    Cheers

My overhead interior lights wont go off

Well, take it back to them as soon as possible. In the mean time check the light switch at the interior light which usually has three settings - "off" at all times - "on" when any door opens - "on" at all times. Try the different switch positions by getting in the car with all doors closed. One setting should switch the light on with the doors initially closed and will remain on even if the doors are then opened or closed. Second setting will be light off with doors are closed but light on when a any door is opened. Third will remain switched off even if any door is opened or closed. If the light can be switched off at one setting but remains on at the two other settings there is a malfunctioning micro switch at one doors. Look for the micro in each of the door frames (not door) and press each it a few times with your finger - if it is stuck it may come loose and work again. Try the switch's settings again. If it doesn't solve the problem either one of the door micros or the light switch may be defective and need to be replaced. Unfortunately this can only be determined by using a multimeter and should be done by a auto electrician or knowledgeable person.

It seems that even with the doors and the hatch closed, the light stays on and the open door light is on. Not sure why

Did you check the glass panel in the hatch was closed properly? I've inadvertently opened it (while trying to open the hatch) and forgot to close it properly, thus keeping the open door light on.

Sometimes after getting in my vehicle and after starting my vehicle the dome light wont turn off unless i open and close the door....even when all the doors were closed all the way before....... sometimes...

the door that makes the lamp turn off after you open and close has a bad door ajar switch, try to spray some pb blast in the door latch that might help ease the problem if not replace switch

Everytime i lock my van the locks keep unlocking themselves

My Honda did this when the driver's door wasn't fully closed.
Does the inside light (dome light) turn on and off correctly when you open and close the driver's door?

If not, then the door latch might be loose or the door sensor switch might have failed (so it thinks the door is open even when it's closed securely)

Interior Light sometimes will not shut off in Ford Ranger Pick up

If I am not mistaken, the plunger is located in the door with the latch. Most of the time you can just pull the door panel off and adjust the switch. After opening and closing the door, they get knocked out of adjustment. I sincerely hope that this helped you. Take care and best wishes.

My trucks computer tells me there's a door ajar

check each door jamb button (can't think of the correct term). close all doors except one... push the button manually... does the interior light go off... if it does move on to the next door. that will narrow down where the problem is... or it should. it also could be the relay for the interior lights located on the fuse panel under the dash.

"Door Ajar" signal on dash panel stays on even when doors are clo

there should be a switch mounted( or more than one) in the door jamb that tells the car when the car door is open...i will probably look like a little plastic plunger...might be broken off or bad internally

2002 taurus passenger door lock

Mine did this. I went around to each door and sprayed a liberal amount of WD-40 in the latch, then open and closed each door about five times. It hasn't done it since. I think the switch inside was not moving freely.

2003 Explorer door ajar light stay on when all doors are closed

I had this problem on my 2003 explorer and took WD40 and gave the lock mechanism a good dose where it meets the clasp on the door jam. Then open and close the doors a couple of times to get them working. They get gummed up and sometimes have a tendency to stick.
