What transfercase goes behind the trans, is the

small trucks like that are considered 1/4 ton. silverado 1500 1/2 ton an silverado 2500 3/4 and up. same goes for gmc

it is the transfercase shift motor. located on side of transfercase behind the front driveshaft. has a long black plastic tube you can see from the bottom. I had same problem. two wire conectors and three bolts hold it in.

You need to ask a trans shop

try adding some valve & lifter top oil to your oil.
If you ever take the oil pan off, remove the oil pump pickup screen and clean it. You can also try a lighter weight oil.
If you take the VIN number to your chev dealer parts dept they can tell you which transmission you have....for free.

G'day mate yes you have a prob and i think it is empty 'transfer' case Toyota had a big prob with transfer case pushing oil into gearbox , result transfer case empty gearbox full. fix is when you get the transfer case off (maybe have stripped and checked ) then drill a small hole in the front of the transfercase at gearbox filler bung height and run the same oil in both if its a manual that is. hope this helps

sounds like an internal problem with the valve body, take it to reputable tranny shop, if you can afford it take to a GM dealer.

sounds like the punch solinoid in the front diff

You might have a short in your wiring some where from the actuator back to where the wires go through the cab .could have been rubbing on something to cause this . just a thought

sounds like the chain is stretched. with vehicle in air you can rotate the front and rear and see how much play is in two yokes. with it in 4hi and will probably hear chain slapping case when you do

chain can't slip, but if noise is definitely in t case, there is either an engagement problem or some serious internal damage!
