sorry but if you have white smoke coming out your exhaust, most likely you blew a head gasket. antifreeze is leaking into your exhaust and out the tailpipe. check your engine oil dipstick and see if the oil is a milky color. your local auto parts store sells a temp fix for it just ask for a head gasket sealer. good luck
Can you have someone raise the RPM's on the car to the area where it smokes and then smell the exhaust? If it smells slightly sweet, then you may have a blown head gasket.
Also look at your oil and coolant. If the oil looks milky or like coffee with creamer in it, that is no good and can indicate a blown head gasket or even a cracked head or block. Also make sure the antifreeze has no oil in it.
1995 sentra's are notorious for being pieces of shyte. Maby try and sell it to an old bag and put some "electrical tape over the warning light, hint, hint". Tell her the surging is a super charger and it can be easily removed. your wellcome
there are several things that can lead to this. first check oil is there any water/antifreeze or white foam in it? if yes engine needs to be rebuilt/replaced. 2 check anti freeze/coolant is there any oil in it? is oil level really low or really black and thick? can be a head gasket has blown or lack of oil or oil change and wrist pins or bearings are ruined from lack of maintenance. best bet is to take to several garages and have them diagnose problems. get 3-4 opinions and go from there. was engine used to race and with manual transmission it could have been over revved and blew bearings.
the transmission oil cooler is on the lower part of the radiator. it might have a hole inside. you need to replace the radiator and flush the transmission fluid several times
If you accidentally poured antifreeze into the motor then change oil and filter immediately. If you discovered antifreeze in the oil then you have a serious internal engine problem that will require immediate diagnosis at a qualified shop or service center. Don't drive the Cherokee at all. Have it towed.
Have it towed DO NOT RUN IT !!! Likely what you are seeing is engine oil in cooling system. (you will likely have coolant in oil as well, and a blown head gasket.Removing the oil fill cap you may find similar residue there) Antfreeze is not a good lubricant and can damage crankshaft bearings. Did the engine overheat or run very low on coolant (reason for change of pump)? If so the head gasket problem was caused by that.
hi,it sounds like a vacum leak, that makes the engine rpm go up and down.( check all the vacum hoses around the engine )you can check the leaks by sprayng carburator cleaner close to the vacum lines,if there are any leaks the rpms will increase imediatly. good luck....
