loss of power could be a number of things , i'd have the OBD codes read as will help diagnose which sensor(s)/switch is faulty , it may well be something simple or more serious wont know until you get the OBD read
Hi there.I think i can help u to turn off service alert, Its done in the following way:- 1.Switch ignition on ( do not start engine ) 2.Switch radio ON. 3.Start engine. 4.Switch radio OFF. 5.Press and hold INFO button. 6.Turn volume control knob at least 30 clicks until self dianostic menu is displayed and an audible signal is heard. ( while still holding the INFO button ) 8.Using the circular dial ( Joystick ) select Confirmation/Adjustment and press centre of joystick to ENTER. 9.Select Service and press ENTER. 10.Select Reset and press ENTER 11Press BACK button to return to main menu. 12.Switch OFF ignition This should do the job, sorry it`s so long winded Good luck John ( South Wales UK)
The "SCV" you see on the knob outside of the volume is Speed Compensating Volume. basically it automatically turns up the volume as you speed up and the vehicle makes more noise. given the fact that you don't have an owners manual i would recomend visiting http://gmownercenter.yahoo.com. you will need to register with a yahoo id but the site is full of information including an owners manual that you can download on your computer. hope this is helpful for you!
same this happned to me in my 2006 sentra. the volume for the radio is gone. i can tune, its just barely audible/ quiet. weirdly though it sounds perfect when playing CDs. i almost thought maybe it got switched in to mute mode or something. did you figure out your problem?
Try flushing the Power Steering Fluid, with the correct new fluid for your type system. Check with the dealer for tech service bulletins and possible additives. If that doesn't help you probably have a worn out steering rack. I would bet on the worn rack.
I would make sure its not your horn or fuse that's the problem before you start to check the switch or wiring. If all else fails using your finger gives the same message :)
